Frequently asked questions

What can I do if I haven’t enough space in my house?

Ask friends and acquaintances about available space, seek to ‘network’ with other artists and share space. Contact alternative spaces such as
hotels, shops, doctor’s surgeries etc with a view to them showing your
work.

What does it cost?

There is a fee of £25.00. This covers administration and inclusion on
the main Festival brochure and programme (which this year INCLUDES the open house information).

If I’m sharing a venue with 2 other artists, do we pay £25.00 or £75.00?

Each artist needs to register individually, so even if you are sharing
a venue you need to register separately.

I’m not sure about letting strangers into my home. Couldn’t it be a bit dangerous?

The general mood in open houses tends to be relaxed and friendly but
you should always make sure you have friends or family around whenever your house or studio is open.

What about insurance?

We suggest you speak with your existing insurance provider to make sure you are covered for public liability and theft/damage of work.

Will there be any public meetings to discuss the event?

Yes, Blue Monkey Studios will be holding meetings helping artists to
prepare for the festival. Details to follow in due course.
